I commend Docomomo Florida for advocating in favor of one of Treister's most spectacular. It is essential to educate young people that not just conventionally 'pretty' architecture is of value. ( for instance Brutalism is very influential in important movies.) There are other Brutalist gems to be celebrated and defended here in South Florida.

I am from key biscayne and they ruined and over built there. I dont want this to happen to the grove. !! STOP BUILDING !! stop ruining for $$$ sake !

They are killing the things that made people come in droves to the Grove in the first place. I'm sick of a handful of politicians and developers making terrible decisions that citizens get stuck having to live with as more and more of our history and identity get stolen from us.

We are loosing our beautiful city identity and skyline. Is imperative to mantain our identity in times where renown architectural gems are in danger for sake of money! Doubt we want to become another Brickell!!!

As a film producer, and Miami resident at the time of Office in the Grove’s construction, I personally and professionally appreciate the preservation of an important cultural icon, such as OITG. Just as the mix of international cultures makes a place more vibrant, so does its architectural blend give it it’s unique character, enhancing it’s visual appeal to the entertainment production industry, and hence, to the eyes of the world.

Architect Ken Triester created a legacy for Coconut Grove with the unique Office in the Grove, Yacht Harbor and Mayfair Hotel. The Shoppes at Mayfair is a glaring example of what happens when we ignore a legacy which we are given. Do not let this happen to Office in the Grove.
