Desert Oasis Residents Do NOT want a Dollar Store!

The location of the proposed Dollar General in Desert Oasis is not an ideal location for a store. It would be built right behind an elementary school. Also, the homes being built in this neighborhood are in the 300-500k range. No one in their right mind would purchase such an expensive home in a neighborhood with a Dollar General smack dab in the middle of it. If this store goes up in our neighborhood, the neighborhood will never grow. We, for sure, would have not moved here if there was a DG out here. We want growth...but not like this. This store will stump growth...all of the home values will be driven down. Not to mention...a DG is only 8 miles away from our neighborhood...all stores are miles away...we are okay with that. If DG wants to build somewhere, this is not the neighborhood to build in. It doesn't make sense for the type of neighborhood this is.

Our family of five do not want a dollar general store in this location. It makes zero sense to put the store where it's proposed. This is a family neighborhood, in an undeveloped area. This is not the type of development that brings value. This type of store is going to bring traffic to an already struggling area, and will draw the wrong kind of people. Retail development should be confined to 163rd where it's at least not in the middle of a neighborhood and easily accessable to everyone in the area. I understand growth is needed.. but this is stupid. Wrong choice, wrong location. Drive down a few miles to Wittman to get your dollar general shopping done.

We do not want a dollar store in our neighborhood, and especially not so close to our elementary school. We want a grocery store or gas station/convenience store near 163rd & Grand not in our backyards.

I moved here to get away from stores like this. Dollar General will only drive residents out as it invites unwelcome theft into the neighborhood. Dollar General is known for theft activity since thieves are able to steal things without much repercussion. Please don’t bring in the first store to our neighborhood as Dollar General!

You first need to make another enterance into the and out of the subdivision... this idea would certainly produce more traffic, more crime, and lower our property values.

Please don't build any type of retail store or commercial space on the corner of 171st Ave and Jomax Rd next to a K-8th school and remote development on a dead end road and neighborhood. It's not a financially viable opportunity for the owners/investors in such a location and certainly doesn't fit in with the area. There are other better locations for it. Please.

This is not the right market for this type of store
