This is well overdue for the city, it should have been done 15 years ago.

As a local youth worker I think this would be a brilliant asset for our city's young people.

Spent my young speaking to the council who only seemed to be interested when it was time to get voters approval. Sad to see that 18years later the Derry youth are the only city/large town in Northern Ireland without an outdoor free to use skate facility.

I agree that the skate boarders need somewhere safe to skate

Would benifit a variety of ages and groups and could even bring buisness opportunitys to the area. More needs done for the Youth of N.I espcially Derry. Frequent excercise has vast positive effects on peoples mental health aswell as physical health. Its a disgrace people need to petition for such a common space amongst cities.

Derry has so many unused run down parks that could benefit from a skate park. It would promote exercise. Getting kids into an Olympic sport. More socializing for kids and adults. Would boost the morale of the town getting something the city has never had

Yes, yes and yes. I remember growing up, everyone hated us skating in the streets and now thinking back we were a danger to ourselves and the public. If there was a safe, purpose built environment for this it would be better for everyone and would also open the city up to visitors from other part's of the country or perhaps from around the world depending on the level of skate park that's built.

Derry needs a skatepark for the youth. Letterkenny is a tiny town 30minutes drive and they have a skatepark. This gives youths somewhere to go and learn new things. The size of Derry city compared to letterkenny and we do not have a skatepark. If a skatepark is built well and properly you can potentially have people travelling from all over the world to skate it. (Letterkenny Park is built very bad).
