My son is just turned 12 never goes out the door, hes into skateboardering, stunt scooter an bmx bike but has no where to practise, this would be a god send for him an us

Long overdue so much talent in Derry and with skateboarding in the Olympic Games could be a chance for some of the up and comming athletes in the city

Yes I agree they should if its wat people enjoy doing and they have them everywhere except derry so why not build one here

get this happening I've worked in two of the skateparks in derry and they were indoors both don't exist anymore and the age and needs it more than ever

Derry has been in much need of a skate park for over a decade one has been promised by each new mayor time and time again but to no avail instead being passed over in favour of football and other Divisive sports. skateboarding is a cross community sport with no ties to teams and conflicts. With skateboardings popularity ever increasing it would be great to see the city catch up to its neighbouring cities and provide a functional park

Properly done it would be a hell of a lot safer for both skaters who don't need to use the likes of Guildhall Square or outside Foyleside and the general public for the same reasons.

I remember the old BMX tracks, loved them... why not build a skate park for the kids.
At least 20 if not 30 years this has been sought!
