WHAT are you people thinking? This is ridiculous to impose on peoples own property for an unsightly concrete plant. Protect peoples right to live in a positive and beautiful natural environment. Please deny this proposal.

My husband, children, and I vacation with family in the immediate vicinity of the proposed plant every year. We enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the area, and our children play freely on the open land. I fear -- as others have mentioned -- that this plant would be a detriment to the peace and beauty of the area and could pose safety hazards. Additionally I find it unconscionable to knowingly approve a plan which could decrease property values when there are alternate solutions. I urge you to consider the detrimental impact this plant could have and to deny the proposal.

With the growth around Fort Collins and surrounding areas it is very important that the general plan and zoning issues are updated. Certainly putting a cement plant next to existing residential land makes no sense and proves that it is time to get serious about respecting the rights of current property owners and residents.

I find it increasingly disturbing that the Chair of the Board of Planning Commissioners, who is voted in office to represent the people of his Comission, could accept this proposal with so many of the people of this area against it. When do we stop and listen to our conscience and stop following the doller that "progress" may provide?

After careful consideration, and countless hours of research, I've decided not to endorse this proposed plant. The proposed plant will have a negative impact on surrounding business and will affect how neighbors enjoy their livelihoods. This plant will not support the local economy in a productive way, instead hurting businesses due to the increase in large trucks traveling in and out of the proposed plant. This will be a total disaster for Laporte.

Why not ask the owners of the project to find land next to their own homes? We are not anti-development or anti-growth, it's inevitable - but this proposal is out of place here, it simply does not belong in this community.
