This project is a terrible idea. It would harm the people who live in Laporte and the surrounding area, and degrade our quality of life simply to line the pockets of one small company.
The gravel operation would reduce the value of our homes, add large volumes of dangerous truck traffic to our roads, fill the air with dangerous particulate dust, and make a godawful racket that will compromise our quality of life. By depressing property values and discouraging people from visiting or moving to Laporte, it would also be bad for almost every other business in town.
Contact the County Commissioners -- they will ultimately decide whether this happens -- and tell them you're against the gravel mine and concrete plant.

I live on North Overland and there are too many semi trucks that travel down my street right now. I can't image how it would be if the gravel pit traffic goes down Overland Tr.

No way. This is absurd to consider. . . . A small, quiet, comfortable community bisected, trisected and Disected by a gravel plant and its operations/trucks et al?? No Way! There is enough traffic and constgruction and repairs (seemingly endless!) with population growth alone. And to lessen the already minimal and quickly disappearing open space and/or ag lands with a gravel pit? What? Again, absurd. Go find your money pit somewhere else, Ready Mix!!!!

I live right across the street, and do not want to live with the noise and dust for their plant. It will forever change the atmosphere of our property.

I don't live in "downtown" Laporte, I live northwest of Overland and 287. However my asthmatic 4 year old grandson lives next to the proposed site. Laporte doesn't need this kind of mess. It will cause real health problems for my grandson and many others. The traffic will be a disaster. Surely, there are any number of other sites, away from neighborhoods that can be mined. Has Ready Mix even bothered to look into other sites that won't ruin people's lives?

We live in the Withrow Ridge Subdivision and the idea of having an entrance for the trucks in our front yard is unacceptable for many reasons including health concerns.

My family would be severely adversely impacted by the air pollution and heavy traffic this activity would bring to our neighborhood. Three of our four family members have asthma and/or life-limiting breathing conditions that are exacerbated by air pollution and airborne particles. One of our family members uses a motorized wheelchair and an increase in heavy truck traffic would increase his chance of being killed while attempting to access the bus stop. This kind of heavy industry has no place in a residential area, particularly our area which also lacks appropriate transportation infrastructure to support heavy industry.

There is no clear benefit to the people of Laporte and the surrounding areas, of which I am one. Whatever benefits there may be are far outweighed by the potential risk to health of residents of the area, the impact to local schools and businesses, the environmental impact, the impact on agriculture, and most importantly the impact on quality of life.

No Laporte gravel pit for clean air protections. Don't our children have a right to fresh air and a life without asthma? These trucks coming and going produce particulate matter that damages young lungs and Cache La Poudre is right nearby.

The noise, dust and heavy traffic generated by this kind of heavy industry is not compatible with a growing residential area such as this. The home and property owners in this immediate area do not deserve to have their various dreams shattered by a gravel pit and concrete plant imposed on them.
