We ought to be mindful of the balance between economic development & opportunity, and the value of preserving the way of life in our community. I'm opposed to gravel mining in this area.

Laporte will not see any benefit from this, but instead we will see many negative effects in all areas of our lives. Why would anyone with a heart even consider doing this to a small farming community with promising, attractive growth? . Oh....MONEY!
Please look elsewhere to mine gravel. Laporte will suffer greatly.

This is not something the people of Laporte, Bellvue or Fort Collins want in our communities. These trucks would impact recreation as well as the Poudre river. Overland Trail is full of pedestrians, bicyclists and horseback riders. These trucks would impact the wildlife in the area as well.

Where to begin? I love LaPorte and it's lack of disruption that is often found in large towns and big cities. A cement plant is certainly not good for the Laporte community or environment. Don't do it.

I think we Laporte residents matter, but I also think we need to make more Fort Collins residents aware of the impacts to their air quality and other concerns as well. We are only 4 miles apart after all.

Laporte is an agricultural and residential community and should not be industrialized. There is no upside for the Laporte community in this proposal. All we get out of this is polluted air, noise, and extreme truck traffic which undermine the safety of our community. This proposal must be stopped.

As a construction worker I understand the need for building materials but as a Laporte resident and environmentalist I strongly object to this sort of project being so close to residents and the center of a rural community with an elementary/middle school. Very poor access to I-25 also. 54G is already congested at times.

I believe that the new gravel pit proposed is wrong. It would appear that the county is making decisions that are good for the gravel pit owners and discount the objections of property owners in the adjacent residential areas. The plan to bring more than 100 gravel trucks a day will cause damage to our roads, be excessively noisy, (beginning at 5:00AM to 7:00 PM) and add dust and dirt to adjacent properties, most of which are residential. I am a property owner in Withrow Ridge subdivision. You should not be expanding the gravel pit at the expense of the resident property owners. Thank you - HORACE Kenney -Motherlode Inc. Withrow Ridge

No!!!!! It’s not just about Laporte. This plant will affect the entire area and impact Fort Collins itself. A better site would probably be far north of here somewhere near the power plant. Needless to say air-quality, noise impact, traffic and property values impact will have to be presented in support of the site.

Laporte is a beautiful place to live and it is my sanctuary from the stress of Fort Collins. I am a geologist and I know the extremely damaging effects gravel operations can have on the environment and community.
