Deny Loveland Ready Mix Proposed Pit, concrete Batch Plant, Concrete Crushing facility

The area proposed has some of the best small farms in our community. This is NOT suitable for a facility that will bring toxic pollution.

This does not seem like the right operation to be allowed in this neighborhood.

A LaPorte Pit, Concrete Batch Plant, and Concrete Crushing facility may be suitable for other locations, but not here. The proposal to allow industrial use (mining pits, concrete batch plant, and concrete crushing) will negatively affect many things LaPorte has to offer. I urge you to reconsider the proposal. Please do not allow a facility to degrade LaPorte and the surrounding community.

Please do not approve this project. The proposed site is only a mile from our children's elementary and middle schools, which is a big concern. Laporte is a quiet small town, full of family neighborhoods, farms, natural areas, trails, and the Poudre River! This project would bring too much dust, noise, and light pollution; too much toxic exposure to silica; and too much heavy truck traffic for our lovely small town!

Please don't approve this build. Farmers first!!

Please, reconsider your building location as Native Hill farm is a major asset to my family and our community.

I moved to Laporte about 20 years ago because of the small town it is, and the convenience to the larger town of Fort Collins. I liked the quiet and the fact you were far enough away from town to see the stars at night. My understanding is the noise level will be very loud and run well into the night, or all night as needed. Your response will probably be the noise levels are acceptable, but have you ever been somewhere where its so quiet that every sound is magnified? That’s Laporte! You can sometimes even hear the train whistles from Fort Collins. That crossing is 7 miles away. So believe me when I say we will hear it loud and clear, especially as it bounces off the nearby hills. They will need lights to see at night also. Good-bye night sky. So there goes my safe, quiet and peaceful haven and my relaxing nights on my deck looking at the stars. There had to of been other choices for where to locate this besides right in our backyards. There is so much open space out this way, why did it have to end up literally in town. Can we just make it a gravel mine and leave the rest out of it.

Serious concerns for the health and well being of residents of LaPorte and current organic agriculture farmers.

Just say NO! Why destroy this neighborhood for a cement plant?

Please do not approve this land use. It is incompatible with the surrounding current uses. Placing a cement plant next to a farm will effectively deteriorate their ability to farm the land. I understand the need to gravel mine the area, but a concrete batch plant does not need to be there.

Just NO!

Please do not permit this cement plant, it's in a sensitive area that is best left to the wild or light agriculture.

This plant will have a huge impact on not only the health and quality of my food but will also have a huge impact on all the surrounding farmers and nursery. Please consider the many negative environmental impacts; irrigation water quality and air quality as well as the surrounding property values.

LaPorte is a gateway to the canyons and parks just west of Fort Collins. I have biked and hiked, lunched and laughed, wandered along the river and driven my children to school there. Cement crushing, trucks, traffic, dust from god-awful contaminated concrete will deteriorate the quality of life for residents and neighbors and visitors. Don't allow this to happen!

As Larimer County residents, I urge you not to approve the proposal for a LaPorte Pit, Concrete Batch Plant, and Concrete Crushing facility. This proposal does not fit in with the surrounding neighborhoods and would have a negative impact on area residents.

I am a fifth generation Larimer County Colorado native and local family physician. The cement sector is the third largest industrial source of pollution, emitting more than 500,000 tons per year of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, and carbon monoxide. Most importantly the effects of these toxic substances will undoubtedly affect our growing and developing children. This has been clearly shown and successfully litigated many times unfortunately in retrospect. Given the population growth and those already settled around this area including two schools it is nothing short of criminal to proceed and should be opposed aggressively.

Please deny Loveland Ready Mix's proposal for its LaPorte Pit, Concrete Batch Plant, and Concrete Crushing facility. It's an inappropriate site for the many reasons that have been cited. A question: are the numerous sand and gravel operations in the Fort Collins area supplying materials for the dangerous fracking going on in Weld County that is contaminating the environment and endangering human health?

The costs associated with the concrete plant are not completely internalized by Loveland Ready Mix. Residents and business near the proposed plant should not be burdened with these costs that the plant is producing.
