It isn't clear how continuing to add sports stations in the Portland Oregon market serves the public good and the needs of the community.

Portland needs Progressive talk, not Fox Sports.

There is more than enough sports coverage available on radio, but news, and particularly liberal views, are barely represented. There is no public interest served by the KPOJ format change to sports.

We already have multiple sports stations in Portland and they took a much needed liberal political station to add another. This is not in the public interest and certainly is not a reflection of the Progressive nature of Portland. The takeover of KPOJ was not done with the publics best interest and I believe they should be denied renewal of their licensure.

The broadcast frequencies should be allotted based on the needs of the public. More and more, programming has become far less diverse. Already, the Portland area has two all-sports radio stations. That public need is served by those two stations. There are no progressive programming radio stations in the Portland area. That area of interest is not being served. I call on the FCC to deny the renewal of the license for KPOJ for no longer serving the needs of progressive people.

KPOJ does not serve community interests. How many sports stations does one community need? We already have a plethora. What this community needs is a progressive talk radio station, which KPOJ was for six years before being turned into a sports station. Portland, Oregon has no progressive talk station. It would serve community interests to air various points of view instead of just one, as is the current situation.

As a regular listener to KPOJ for a number of years, I was shocked and dismayed when the format was changed from Progressive Talk to 24/7 sports. with no notice whatsoever! I believe that was a failure of respect for the public trust. Therefore, I do not support renewing KPOJs license to broadcast. Continuing sports broadcasts when that market is already adequately covered does not serve well. Unless the programing model is changed back to provide a platform fir differing ideas, KPOJ is not fulfilling the public need

As long as Fox owns KPOJ it will be a robot station that neither is invested in or supported by the community. it does little good to waste bandwidth on a robot station. better to yank their license than to reward Fox's malfeasance.

I used to listen to KPOJ faithfully when it was a progressive radio station. I miss those days. What Oregon does NOT need is another sports talk show on our radios. Please deny their license until they decide to return to progressive interests.
