A painting by Akram Hussain seemingly depicting Lord Krishna with semi nude Gopis. The painting is said to be hanging at Guwahati’s State Art Gallery.
It is a disgrace if you say that it does not depict Lord Krishna. Blue colour is big hint. Adding to it, Peacock feather on his head & flute in his hand describes a lot.
Freedom of expression can't be a license to hurt religious sensibilities. This painting is mocking Lord Krishna
Is this is again to be taken quietly by Hindus?
I here by file a petition to:
1. Immediately put down this painting from Guwahati’s State Art Gallery
2. Destroy this painting so that religious sensibilities don't get hurt, AGAIN!

The massive surge of support proves that we are done tolerating this blatant mockery of our faith at the State Art Gallery. Akram Hussain and the gallery officials cannot ignore our burning outrage any longer.

This type of fun of Hindu Gods is absolutely not acceptable even in form of art or freedom of speech
this painting hurts the religious sentiments of Hindu's.Its just obnoxious,horrible,horrible
Nobody has rights to make fun of any religion or worshipable God.It should be thoroughly condemned.Also the artist should be punished measurably.
Please remove this painting. it clearly reflects bankruptcy of creative ideas of the artist. How can u hurt sentiments of other people. Muslim Prophets, Saints n mystics have always advocated love n respect for all living beings
Certainly he understands nothing about Lord Krishna. This seems to be a mischief intended to hurt devotees.If an Indian cannot value Indian culture,Indian epics,Indian history, he better not remain an Indian.
