The city council officially approved the demolition ordinance this evening. Thank you to the 172 people who demanded protection for our historic architecture. Keep a close eye on future permit filings to ensure the new rules are strictly enforced.
Thomasville's charm is defined by the historic architecture of its downtown and neighborhoods. Progress is important and so is heritage. Thomasville needs a DEMOLITION ORDINANCE NOW for structures more than 45 years old to allow time to evaluate the significance of the structure to the community and options to demolition if warranted.
