McKelvy provided me with some of my closest friends and best memories at Lafayette. Please dont mess with the culture of this house.

Ridiculous timeline to drop on students. The admin really needs to respect the unique community that has made this house special for so long.

My daughters experience living at McKelvy these last three years has been one of her best college experiences. Her dad and I are so thankful for her opportunity and hope the administration does not disrupt the dynamic program and the relationships built this past year especially after the last year or more as things try to get back to normalcy only to be thrown another curve. Not a good idea.

In the 1980s, the McKelvy Scholars program brought many students from varied courses of study under one roof who were looking for a community and intellectual exchange they could not find on campus. It was unlike any other living space or learning experience found on campus. From talking with alumni who pre-dated my time there and more recent participants, I found their expereinces to be remarkably similar and a testament to the program and the school that McKelvy did and continues to provide that same opportunity for those Lafayette students interested in pursuing it. For the college to use the house as a dorm for students not in the program (even just 5) seems quite disrespectful to those currently in the prgoram and all of those who came before while endangering the quality of the experience for future participants. I respectfully request that the college reconsider it's decision.

McKelvy was one of the most fundamental and special parts of my college experience, and I really hope it can continue as it has been.

This is a horrible idea and goes against the intent and ideals of the McKelvy scholar program.
