Our children need to be in an actual classroom at least 4 days a week, PLEASE make this happen HVS!!! This is way more damaging than COVID-19 to our children!!!

Our teachers are doing an amazing job but I know our kids would be better off and learning more if they were in school full time or as close to it as possible.

The children need structure..normalcy..depression is skyrocketing..2 days a week is hurting the children..not all parents can afford to homeschool..some children need to get out of the home...they need socialization..peers..

I am a single mom of three kids. I am trying to work a full time job and now also be an educator for 6-8 hours a day to my frustrated, confused and extremely distractible children. After long days of staring at a computer screen on multiple different educational sites (and also clicking on multiple non-school sites during “school time” requiring redirection yet again) my boys will tell me they learned next to nothing, and can usually not remember the majority of what was presented in the days lesson plan. Not to mention mom spends much of the day googling how to do tenth grade geometry problems or trying to remember which is the correct way to write a haiku, sonnet, or limerick. Nothing can replace the amazing (and often overlooked) dedication of our wonderful teachers, in class, teaching them face to face. This whole situation has shown me just how much gratitude and appreciation we should all have for teachers. They do a job which I have recently found out that I AM NO WHERE NEAR qualified to do. My kids need their teachers. They need face to face learning. I need to work to support them. This isn’t working.

This hybrid learning is so hard to keep them motivated on the out of school days. They feel it isn’t necessary to do the work - absolutely no motivation at all. Just turns into a huge argument. We need the schools open completely 5 days a week. Please! They are sad, unmotivated, not learning at all and bored. They need to be social and hang with friends and see their teachers face to face.

Our kids are not leaning anywhere near the same quality of content as they were with in-person learning 5 days. Even our kids are saying it. And lets be clear, this is not an attack on teachers and admins. Its a a plea to consider the mental health and well being of our students and especially their academic progress and looking at real safety guidelines instead of just avoiding school altogether.
