This is unacceptable. Action is needed now. There has been more than enough time for words and you have failed. Remove Katherine immediately. Appoint a new board. There is NO excuse for this.

When Katherine "apologized" publicly a few years ago to a friend of mine for treating her similarly, I chose to believe she was sincere. Recent events show me that I was incorrect. If that apology had been sincere, it would've engendered the kind of action that would've prevented this from happening again. Very disappointed. Make it right.

Being supportive of women means supporting all women. It means that we need to strive to be inclusive. This sort of systemic racism doesn't just affect women of color - it affects all women.

Postpartum Progress helped save my life. It helped me feel less alone. It made me feel validated. But in hurting WOC, it has failed and that failure needs to be rectified. As another commenter has stated, the marginalized need to become the middle and NO woman can be left behind. #BlackLivesMatter #Weareinthistogether

It's unfortunate that it has come to this, but the organization serves so many women and has the potential to serve and save so many more that if fixing it requires an exit of the staff and board, the greater good must prevail. To truly help all women, we must center our most marginalized.

I hope Postpartum Progress can make it right and begin to do this important work in a way that is inclusive to all women, both inside and outside the organization.

Representation matters. And Postpartum Progress has been unacceptably slow to make changes based on feedback from women of color.

Time for a new CEO and board!!
