This is a situation that you cannot take lightly. This child not only noticed a problem (you should not carry a gun to school), but she took the problem into her own hands and retrieved the gun. She is a hero and didn’t deserve a suspension and deserved much more than an unnecessary punishment.

Let her back in school. She was trying to do the next right thing. She put own life in danger to help others. What kind of message is JCPS sending! Ok bring a gun dont get suspended ... help save life get suspened. She might not of made the right decision by getting ahold of the gun but doesnt deserve to ruin her whole life over a bad judgement call. She didn't bring the gun she took away from someone else. Why isnt the young man that brought it suspended?

Obviously Phoenix stepped up and did something even though she was afraid. School officials: don’t keep pretending you can not revisit the audio / video at least. This is a stand up kid trying to become a citizen to make Kentucky proud. Many people are watching what you’ll do next.
