After the Sandusky diabolical, I figured PSU had figured out that there were problems in its athletic department. Looking at the history of the AD, really makes an outsider question the ethics of the athletic department at PSU.

The allegations deserve to be investigated. PSU athletics needs to stand for more than wins and losses. Integrity, responsibility, and honor have been the backbone of our university. Time for the athletic administration to demonstrate that they have a backbone and support their athletes.

Absolutely horrified by the accounts that have been allegedly 'investigated' by PSU. Protection of the student-athletes should be paramount.

As a current student at PSU I'm starting to lose my faith in Penn State and the administration as to whether they truly care about the students or not. I hope that Penn State and the administration show's that they do care and that there will be an investigation into these claims.

I'm a Penn State alumni and I am sickened by the abuse that is going on with the women's gymnastics team. No one, male or female, should think about suicide or develop anxiety and depression over coaches who are supposed to be your mentor and confidant. Coaches are an athletes number 1 fan but with the Thompson's, that is simply not the case. They should be terminated, effect immediately, and have charges pressed against them to the fullest extent of the law. There is an obvious reason why there are no seniors on the roster and that should be a HUGE sign that something is not right within the gymnastics program and the athlete department.

As a former student-athlete (men's swimming & diving class of '09) I am embarrassed the the University has not handled this situation more effectively. We are all taught as Student-Athletes to be proud of the colors you wear for they represent the entire University, it's name, and all former and current students who wear the blue and white. We wear it with pride and are taught to study hard first, then work hard in the pool, gym, or field and fight every day to bring honor to the jersey you wear. It is frustrating and disappointing to see that those responsible for the well-being of student-athletes don't have the same fight and resolve for honor in their work.

I know one of these young women that had to endure the despicable treatment at the hands of these coaches. This truly needs to be looked into.

If the statements of a coach and athletes that were there and experienced situations firsthand isn't enough for Penn State to start an investigation something is wrong on the administration. We all learned from the Paterno fiasco that independent investigations are worthless and very skewered.

We need to stop this type of abuse and behaviors that are hidden and swept under the rug. The administration needs to step up and correct these type of things
