As a volunteer Doula I have learned a lot about child birth, mothering, and breastfeeding from Ina. I am so upset to learn of the prejudice she has. I wish this world were a nicer place.

I used to respect Ina May. Such a brpad generalization about black women is racist and abominable. Why would black women be different than the white women you support? I'm really appalled by this. I never stopped to consider that your ideas about birth extended only to white women.

Gaskin must be held accountable for the direct harm she is causing to black women and people of color. The rest of the natural birth community must disavow her and examine the white supremacy that underlies much of the NCB movement.

Black lives matter and for a leader PAID to give a speech on maternal mortality, there is zero excuse to display such a shocking racist view and misunderstanding of health care systems.
