School Admn must be sensitive about the situation and stress parents are into. Instead of taking advantage and making bigger chunk of money this year, think of giving back in time of dire need. Parents will share their bank statement if you share your P&L for past 3 years. If not, then don't make conditions that are hard to achieve. We want our Right NOT Charity...!!!

Providing a relief in school fee based on an application form is a standard practice and is understandable, but the clear reservations are; 1. The information requested to be provided are totally unwanted and unjustifiable. Why do School Management think that the COVID- 19 Pandemic is expected to affect only a certain category of parents!! Absolute misconception. This is again a crooked way of finding ways and means to disallow and punish those who do not wish to "publish" confidential info( yes, parents are like publishing the confidential info). 2. Information to be provided are of purely "private, personal and confidential". They claim to keep the same as confidential!!. But we do not have any confidence on their confidentiality statement. One logical possibility-the whole IT Dept. can access the data otherwise. 3. The information requested through the Relief Form are like the school has been literally awaiting a "suitable situation" to extract this "much awaited" data from the parents for a long time!!. Taking undue advantage of the unprecedented state of the economy; totally unacceptable and against the ethical values. Brilliantly exploiting the parents to get the information they want!!!. A clever way to mobilise data. 4. Finally, the Relief Form says that the school can initiate civil proceedings on any wrong information given!!!! Are they threatening to provide true data on personal matters, which they shouldn't have even asked! The height of personal infiltration!

We are not asking to wave off the fees completely but a reasonable discount ..which by all means is justifiable (as most of us feel ) as children are not using the school facilities completely. Let’s support one another school and parents. GEMS u can do better than this!! Praying for this Pandemic to get over soon. Stay home stay safe everyone

GEMS should be providing a discount for Semester 3 fees across the board to ALL parents like so many schools as everyone has been affected and it is clear they are not providing all services we are paying for. Even other school principals have acknowledged this issue i.e. that children are not getting “the collaboration and Face-to-Face contact both with their peers and their teachers” and even pointed out “that parents are not getting the same sort of provision for their child educationally that they were before". While JC is providing online teaching for a limited number of hours a day, this is NOT the whole service. Furthermore, it will not be providing the whole service for the for an extended period of time - most, if not all of Semester 3. There needs to be some compromises from GEMS for a change (as everyone is having to make) instead of hiding behind policies and procedures and stonewalling on this matter. A discount for ALL is the way forward We are all in this together.

Cant agree more to every point. The across-the-school fee reduction is more just and fair.

Showing letters from employees and bank statements is absolutely demeaning and unacceptable. I for one will not be showing my bank statement. Rightly said, we agreed to pay for the package which included the infrastructure. Forcing us to pay without providing everything the package offered is down right theft. And subsequently ‘giving’ a discount and flaunting it as his charitable works is unacceptable. As many schools have offered, no strings attached, a flat discount is what we want. Collectively, we have sent our children to his schools and in the process he has grown. It is time he shows leadership by doing the right thing. The right thing here is not to demean parents. Offer a flat discount across the board for all parents. Keep in mind this is not charity. Varkey needs to do the right thing to help the economy recover given the current economic situation.

In this scenario minimum of 30 to 40% fees should be reduced
