Demand FTB Protect Workers with a Return to 100% Telework

Tested positive mid-May as my area went into outbreak. Have yet to see a discernible reason to return to the office before it's safe to do so, or even at all, considering the benefits to productivity, reductions in commuting, improved work-life balance, etc. etc. But most specifically the building is not a safe environment as long as Covid still exists. There will be a significant risk factor present any day that you spend in that building.

Teleworking is better for state costs and employee costs as gas is $6 a gallon, and only looking to get worse. Covid is on the rise again, mostly due to "Office Culture," being viewed as a good thing for us. I've only had more than 3 people in my row at work twice. Kind of an unncessary taunt to the fact that we're being forced without option to come back into the office.

Allowing full-time telework for those who've demonstrated the ability to work equally well from home should be a no brainer. With CA's strong commitment to combat climate change, why would the Governor force people to commute to and from the office? The environmental impact (in a good way) of telework for those who want it and can do it, coupled with the cost-savings for reduced office space just makes sense. But this is the government, so...

San Francisco Building, Pacific Heights Community. Since the beginning of the pandemic I was able to avoid getting Covid. After returning back to work in the office I caught Covid. It is not safe to return to work in the office. Also, when I work at home I get more done due to less distractions.

The number of cases continue to rise in the office, yet the Guidance Council INSISTS that we come in either one or two days a week. I'm still questioning this thought process. I worked at AT&T for 35 years, 8 of the last were teleworking full time. We still got the job done.

Sacramento - Marina Community Working from home is a win-win. I've never been happier at FTB than I have since we started Teleworking. The eagerness to bring us back into the office is still unclear? Was there no thought to what it was going to be like for us? Positive covid cases never stopped even with those that stayed in office so then brining people back into this environment is putting us all at risk. We've all been able to do our job just as we have been, I'd say even better and with less distractions, for the last 2 years teleworking.

This place is a feeding ground for germs. They don’t sanitize anything. We do our work from home just as good if not better than bring in the office. Less distractions at home. We have everything we need to do our jobs at home.

I feel more comfatable working from home and made me more productive.

I do not feel comfortable going into the office at this time. My allergy acts up, perhaps to dust and whatever else is in the buildings, my setup is not ergonomic, and gas is way too high. I tested positive for covid recently and I feel that I am being rushed to go back to the office. I am still having symptoms and the thought of being required to go into the office is stressful and taxing. I am much more productive at home where I am comfortable and safe. I have nothing positive to say about my experience returning to the office. I think it has been a huge waste of employees' time and money at the expense of our health. Why am I paying $6 in gas each time I go in the office to put myself and others at risk and be less productive?

I need 100 percent teleworking

SF- Sunset Community I was not comfortable with teleworking when the pandemic first happened and we were all told we would be working from home. I wasn't sure if I would have the discipline to do so. It's now going on two years of teleworking and I feel like I am way more productive at home than at the office. I have less distractions and am able to focus on getting my work done as well as assist others with their work when needed. We are able to assist our agents through other mediums and keep each other safe at the same time. Another reason to consider teleworking 100% of the time are the outrageous gas prices. There are many people that are not close to the office and the gas prices are making it really hard on people. At home I don't have to worry about encountering someone that might be sick nor bringing the illness home to my family. The employees of Franchise Tax Board have proven that we can do our jobs from home just as well if not better than at the office and should consider joining the rest of the companies that have had their employees teleworking for 10+ years.

Working from home has made me more productive, have better adherence, and have a more positive attitude towards working my daily tasks. I save on gas, travel expenses and daycare costs. I feel safer being at home than in the office because I have more control over the cleanliness of my workspace.
