This act disrupted his preparation and performance, causing significant distress to a top-tier athlete competing at the highest level. 2. 2025 Doha Event: Wang Chuqin’s table tennis rubber was deliberately torn during pre-match equipment checks, further compromising his ability to compete fairly and safely. These incidents are not isolated but represent a disturbing pattern of targeted actions against a prominent player. Such acts of sabotage are unacceptable in any sport and strike at the heart of fair play, sportsmanship, and the values that the ITTF upholds. Our Demands: We call on the ITTF to take immediate and decisive action by: 1. Conducting a comprehensive and transparent investigation into both incidents to identify the perpetrators and circumstances behind these acts. 2. Implementing stronger security measures to protect players’ equipment and ensure a safe competitive environment. 3. Establishing strict penalties for those found guilty of sabotaging athletes’ equipment or engaging in similar misconduct. 4. Issuing a public statement addressing these incidents and outlining steps to prevent future occurrences. Why This Matters: Table tennis is a sport built on precision, dedication, and fairness.
