Our HOA abused our reserve funds, raised our dues by more than 60%, and then they all resigned. The “replacement” board is equally non-transparent….we are told we don’t have enough money to even send emails to the neighborhood. Our HOA is in shambles and we can’t get any satisfaction unless we hire an attorney (which is what the board told us to do). I congratulate this representative in helping homeowners out.

It is time to ban HOAs, too much control and no accountability.

I am fully in support of this measure. My HOA barely functions. Currently inching toward Receivership. No participation from members. Unable to muster a Quorum. Nothing gets done.

I live in Milton Florida and our HOA has driven a wedge in the neighborhood and operates recklessly.

As a resident in Florida that has lived in an HOA community for over 19 years I support reform of the HOA’s. I believe the associations should still support community infrastructure and community amenities, but have no jurisdiction over individual homeowner rights such as grass, house colors, fences, etc..

Who are the HOAs? Are they your neighbors, or has this become a business? Who owns those? Could a big investment firm own a business that manages neighborhood HOAs? What happens when a big investment group has ownership interest in an HOA management company and rental homes in the neighborhood? Seems like they could create a lot of revenue by fining their tenants via the hoa that their shell company manages at the expense of the homeowners they would maybe want to put liens on... if one wanted to anyway.......hmmm

I support the ban!! I have been in two homes, and the associations were overreaching and wasteful with money in both situations.

Thank you for speaking out against this unnecessary ADDITIONAL layer of government that overburdens and overtaxes too many of Florida’s homeowners!

HOAs should be banned across Florida. I live in one now and lived in one prior. I will never live in another one.

I live in Largo Florida in a co-op of about 165 units. They want me to sign in any guests I have in my home and that's just the beginning of the abuse of restrictions over my privacy and liberty. Band HOA's and co-ops should be banned.

Need to slow them down and reign them in. People seem to forget their responsibility once on the board -reserve funds are out of control

This absolutely needs to happen. We’re currently selling all four of our homes in HOA controlled neighborhoods and will never buy a home in an HOA again.

In almost 4 years I’ve been living in Water Oak Country Club Estates my HOA fee has
Go up to $801.85 per month with no real
reason given. we need an itemized list of all
Payments from Water Oak to know where all the money is going towards.
