HOAs should be banned because they are not “community self-governance,” but private governments created and enforced by municipalities and developers in partnership with CAI. They strip homeowners of property rights, voting rights, and due process while double-charging for services already covered by property taxes. Today, 84% of new homes are being built inside HOAs, removing The People’s right to choose whether to live under one at all. CAI’s own Articles of Incorporation (1973) make clear the plan is to eventually force all Americans into HOAs—against their will, without constitutional protections, and without recourse. No citizen should be coerced into surrendering their rights to a corporate board just to own a home.

Abolish HOA’s in Florida. At the very least cut their power!

I have contacted my own representative about my support for this initiative. I understand that some homeowners may appreciate the standardization and order that HOA’s can provide when they are not out of control, There needs to be some kind of homeowner voice integrated into the associations bylaws across the state. We are essentially paying for a government like organization to represent our interests without listening to what our interests are. Policies introduced by associations need to be reviewed by the homeowners before they are presented to the board for a vote. That way we can at least contact the board with concerns before the vote approves the policy with no homeowner involvement .

I believe all Common Interest Communities should be abolished. Private property must be restored.

My home should be my sanctuary. Yet under HOA rules, I can be told what color to paint it, how to maintain my yard, or even whether I can protect it in an emergency. This is not freedom of ownership; it is conditional use of property dictated by neighbors with disproportionate authority and little accountability. “If I Pay for It, I Should OWN It — NO MORE HOAs.”

I think you need to look at all the abuse of HOA for timeshares in Florida, westgate Lakes the manager refuses to connect to owners like myself one Miguel Gonzales westgate lakes. I pay almost $2000.00/week maintenance fee and taxes and this is the first Resort Manager refusing to speak to an owner, I own two weeks get charged for internal exchanges $550.00 this time, I haven’t used the Resort in 3 years because my Unit was in such bad shape, filthy Air ducts causing Asthma attacks, broken shades no privacy, gaps around door letting roaches walk in, non working House Phone, non working AC causing company to get sick and go home mid week missing silverware and Kitchen utensils just to name a few, and getting service is horrible, pools open past 11Pm with noise people carrying on after midnight causing us not to sleep, the list goes on. Somebody needs to look at what the HOA is doing and full financial disclosure, they added all kinds of Commercial restaurants shops and businesses owners never wanted, are we paying tax for that on our tax bill of $250/week and the Resort is collecting income?? Please do something it’s going crazy and you can’t get out from it. We were told by David Siegel when we bought he would buy it back when we wanted to sell it, but that and everything else was a lie. Please do something before People declare Florida a rip off to tourists.

Outstanding, its about time someone stands up for the commin every day people against HOAs. Im asking disabled veteran and have resided at our home for 20 years. We have new HOA management, and since they've taken over, my vehicles have been towed out of my yard 3 times, and Im not the only one. We have a small community with outdated bylaws that should not be enforced. Im in agreement, get rid of all HOA organizations and stop letting them take money out the pocket of hard working families.

Our HOA does absolutely NOTHING for our community. People park in yards,er dogs run everywhere... We even had someone park in front of our driveway and we couldn't leave. They did NOTHING. The only thing we do is get letters for grass in the middle of the rainy season when you can't even push a damn lawnmower in the mush.

I have asked numerous people for help with a broken hoa being run by two men that only tell you what they want Our election was not even legal but nothing has been bone Wrong agendas it goes on with no help from the authorities
