The surgery is a joke, appointments are like gold dust! Waited over an hour with my 2 year old son last time i was there and we were the only ones in the waiting room!

The current system is not working and is completely unacceptable. I have friends living in other areas within Sussex and outside of Sussex and this is bit happening there.

I was struggling with my back pains to book an appointment on Ship Street Surgery for many hours and when i finally reached there my first available was after 1 week. I didn't said nothing and accepted. But, big surprises were about to come in the next 6 weeks. I was receiving a text message from Modality Sussex that my appointment was canceled because of lack of the staff and to leave another 1 week gap for booking another appointment. What is going on!!!??? Is a real concern about who is taking care of us??? Because from our taxes payers are never delays on taking out the money!

Very disappointing. I have been a registered patient with Judges Close Surgery for over ten years. I walked into the surgery to discuss an appointment. To my surprise, I was told I had been transferred to Ship Street Surgery. I felt let down that they had not even bothered to inform or ask me.

For all my recent appointments I have been sent to Crawley Down Surgery although I'm in the heart of East Grinstead. Getting an appointment is a frustrating experience. This was not the case when Judges Close Surgery was run by the previous management.

Definitely answers to these questions are needed. The service we are now receiving is just not good enough. Such a shame as I believe Ship Street Surgery was, prior to Modality, one of the best in the locality.

Even pre Covid a non reliable system was in place. No confidence to book an appointment, so living with ailments in the hope they will go away because we can’t face the ridiculous waiting and frustration.

It really shouldn't be this hard to make an appointment, IF you get through (after numerous days / redialing / on hold for hours) you are just told there are no appointments - try again tomorrow.

I went into the surgery on Monday to speak directly to the receptionist about booking an appointment and was very specifically told that for non-urgent appointments, you must ring after 5.30pm on Wednesday for an appointment in 3 weeks. I did as told, on the dot of 5.30pm, and was number 2 in the queue, but on getting through was informed this advice was completely untrue, appointments could be opened up randomly any time from 2ish and there were now no available appointments at all for the next 3 weeks. I had explained it was important I see the doctor in the next 3 weeks as I will be out of the country for two weeks after that and so must sort out my prescription before then. But apparently the receptionists working there are as clueless and confused as the patients on how you are supposed to get access to the GPs at the practice. Someone is going to die, if they haven't already, as a result of the incompetent handling of the booking system. The GPs at the practice need to stop hiding behind Modality.

The staff work very hard doing a difficult job however Modality might work well for the surgeries in the group but I don't see any benefit for the patients

It is very frustrating to be told by the hospital to make sure you follow up with your gp next week only to be told when you eventually get through there’s no chance of that happening!
