Been a patient at Ship St since 1990. They have always been perfectly good..until Modality got involved. It's now shockingly bad.I and many others no doubt have all but given up trying to get an appt, and rely on Dr Google.. i recently was unable to get an appt after BREAKING MY ARM!! Apparently wasn't serious enough to get one of the few appts available.

I honestly feel sorry for the staff working in these conditions. It must be nearly as frustrating as never getting through or just giving up on trying.

I have needed to see a Dr a few times recently but have been unable to get an appointment, it is very stressful to keep being told to call again tomorrow. I gave up in the end on 2 different occasions. So, I have been unwell and probably needed to see a Dr for antibiotics but did not. Its not good enough, I pay my taxes and national insurance, I should be able to see a Dr. I never had this problem before covid. It's ridiculous and dangerous for people.

I am appalled by the lack of appointments available & the receptionists lack of interest in helping you! I understand they are under pressure but more appointments need to be made available!

I wholly agree with all of the points raised above. Please do not blame Covid-19 for the poor human resource and business management failings, that would be a ‘cop out’.
Other surgeries outside of Modality’s catchment area have weathered the Covid storm very well, building upon the technologically opportunities and updated business practices that presented themselves since 2019.
Also, DO NOT lay the blame for poor service at the feet of shortage of practitioners. If people want to work part-time, be savvy about the hours they work and find others who wish to work part-time to share the load.
A sensible and cohesive budgetary approach would benefit all aspects of their business.

I’m under Crawley Down Health Centre and have exactly the same issues mentioned here. The thought of becoming unwell and/or trying to get an appointment fill me with dread. It’s terrifying how awful things have become.

The practice has gone downhill, the process of trying to get an appointment to see a doctor is farcical and VERY frustrating and communication is non existant,

Holding for an hour every time I call the surgery is completely unbelievable. For our elderly population this must be particularly distressing. I dread to think how many patients, with potentially serious issues, are going undetected due to being misdiagnosed over the phone or giving up as it’s so difficult to even talk to someone! Perhaps some additional option’s when calling would help cut down on waiting times. Press 2 for appointments, 3 for test results, 4 for general enquiries…….. there are so many issues I could go on for ever…I think there is a need for training amongst the admin staff as I was told 3 different things by 3 different receptionist’s about the same issue recently and I was left not knowing what advice to follow .
