It’s scary if you get ill you can’t get to see a GP when you need to. In this day and age it shouldn’t be like this, modality is a disgrace and should be made accountable for its failings , it feels like no one cares any more.

Thoroughly agree with the comments in this complaint as I have been very disappointed with the service at Ship Street surgery

Modality has taken over our local GP practices in Keighley. It's impossible to get help, advice, appointments or anything from them. They are not accountable to the NHS complaints team. modality is interested in one thing - making money at the expense of people who are ill. Modality is dangerous and a hazard to our health.

1. Why are Crawley Down residents being turned away for appointments from our clinic while Ship Street patients are given appointments here? Why is it so difficult to get a face to face appointment? Covid restrictions are over in every other area of life. 3. It is incredibly difficult to get appointments at all, patients are being told to phone back next month when the next month's appointment book is open. We can't even get as far as booking in the future. 4. Wait times on the phone are ridiculous. 5. Why are you employing 9 more administration staff instead of more doctors? 6. Why do you keep referring patients to A&E or Urgent Care for things that don't warrant or need it, eg needing antibiotics for a chest infection? This happened to me and other patients.

I completely support this petition as getting an appointment or prescription is ridiculously hard.

It’s a disgrace! I’ve been trying to get through to them for two weeks now and always in a queue then you get cut off.

I have been attending East Surrey Hospital for over 2 years for various problems including Cancer and regular letters are copied in to my doctor at ship street stating that they recommend various treatments yet as of today there has been no follow up or contact from the doctor concerned. This practice used to be excellent but now its a disgrace ever since the merger. it needs at the very least someone to take control

Telephone system diabolical. Once through you get good service though.

What patients of a Modality run practice receive, is not what we have come to expect from our NHS. The appointment system is dreadful. You can start to call immediately the practice is open, yet by the time they answer you, all appointments have gone and that is just telephone appointments! Gone are the days when you call and just know that a doctor would actually sit down face to face and discuss your problem. I have had a cough for 3 years, and not once have I managed to see a practice doctor. Each time I managed to speak to one over the phone, they suggest a possible cause and give me a prescription. This has wasted the NHS a huge amount of money because nothing they have offered has made any difference. I had to pay to go private to see someone who was actually interested in my problem before I found I had bronchitis and mild asthma! If I had seen a doctor at the practice at the beginning I would not have gone through this and the NHS saved money for useless medication. This must change. We should go back to the practice being run by the doctors, not a money making machine,

Sadly Modality has ruined the once excellent Ship Street Surgery. The system is appalling and extremely incompetent.

Trying to get an appointment is ludicrous! Today I waited nearly an hour just to ask for a li k I hadn't been sent only for the phone to be answered and the receptionist hanging up because she couldn't hear me, but I heard her say that the phone wasn't working again.

Why have doctors at Ship Street Surgery moved to Dirset and Essex, but are still at the surgery? You can hardly have a face to face at that distance!

Since Modality took over the running of our practice, it has gone downhill. It is impossible to get a face to face appointment. If you are extremely lucky, you may get a telephone appointment. When I have tried to call, I am so far down the waiting list, by the time I get to speak to a receptionist, there are no appointments left. I was emailed today to tell me that in the last two years I had a high blood pressure reading so should have another. No appointment was offered; I was advised to use my home kit if I have one or borrow one from a doctor. I needed to fill in the attached form and return it. I could give them any numbers and I assume they would just accept that. Same thing when I was offered my asthma check over the phone. This is so slap dash. It takes minutes to do either of these two tests, yet apparently, there are no doctors or nurses ever available to do them. What are they doing all day? The carpark and waiting room is almost always empty! This level of treatment is simply not good enough and not what we have always had from the NHS.

This is the same at Modality Crawley Down. It used to be a very efficient and helpful surgery until Modality took over. Spent 80 minutes hanging on the phone last week without a helpful response at the end

We as a family had had stirling service from Ship Street and the previous incarnations. We got so fed up with the deteriorating service - seems to be when Modility stepped in - that we left the practicew and moved elsewhere. So glad we did. But reflection on the past 50 years - it was a great service!

Why is the government allowing companies such as Modality to destroy our local GP service?
