If you are going to lower the water table for surrounding wells, and this proposal somehow gets approved, then troy sand and gravel should be expected to contribute to a clean public water drinking source for town residents. demand all of this and no less.

Study should also include the development and description of the anticipated cone of depression created when the mine is dewatered to the additional 100 foot depth and its effect on adjacent private wells.

I support the proposed expansion of the environmental impact study.

More needs to be done to protect the folks who live near the mining area; to protect our water supply, our house values and our daily lives.

Please stop mining expansion.

I’m afraid we’re going to lose Reichards lake and along with it the town beach. The gravel pit stinks and coats everything in town with dirt and dust. The fumes from the asphalt plant are terrible, and well water quality and levels are negatively impacted.

I am concerned about the monthly explosions and their effects on my home. The noise coming from the mine early in the morning is disrupting. I am also concerned about the effects on Reichard's Lake and other waterways.

The potential effects of this expansion need to be studied carefully. Frankly, any additional adverse effect is too much. This mine, being so centrally located in the community, is already very disruptive to residents.

When will they stop

Residents in our area have already lost well water due to the lowered water table from the mine's activities.

I am very concerned about the water. We have always been able to drink our water and have never had a problem with our water and this is very disconcerting. I am worried about showering, cooking, doing laundry, the whole problem that the water problems bring.

How many more wells will be dry by going down another 100 feet.
