We live just over a berm from the mine, and, like most in our hamlet, have a shallow well for our water supply.

Worried about my well water and air quality.

Stop the madness

We have neighbors on the east side of the ridge that have lost well water over the past year. They have to truck in water to replace their water supply. Further digging will impact more families and their children. Enough!

We need to see scientific proof that this will not dry up more wells, add chemicals to the water, and disrupt wildlife in the area. They can't just keep plundering this area unchecked.

The adverse impacts of increased mining have not yet been adequately considered. Further study is essential, and the impact on public health and safety should carry significantly more weight than increased business profit.

What are the next steps with this petition?

Please protect the collective value of homes and other properties in West Sand Lake.

More study is necessary before this is approved. Water and wells have already been impacted in the area.

Blasting shakes our house. Noise and smell of asphalt production effect the entire neighborhood.

As a longtime resident of Cayuga Court,, I would ask that any additional expansion of gravel mining the subject to significant scrutiny

They lied on their application. Should be automatic disqualification.

Just ask anyone who lives near the quarry and Winding Ridge Way about the blasts and order (diesel/tar) as it is. We need to stop plundering natural resources and stick future generations with the bill/consequences. Look around on Google Maps to see what these mines due to the topology. There are absolutely no plans to restore or make use of these pits. The owner has offered the town a soccer field and kickback, but wasn't transparent on how much they would be earning on the expansion either. Messing with the topology and water tables will not end well. You don't really need an extensive environmental study for this. We can't trust the legal system to hold everyone accountable when things go wrong. There are too many superfund sites around us as it is.

I live across the street from this. It’s really not wanted here!!!!

I had one to replace one well pump already because of blasts and then I had to drill down another 170 feet because my well had gone dry

The mine is in the center of many residential neighborhoods dependent on clean, adequate ground water for their wells, clean air and peaceful enjoyment of their homes, lakes and creeks. An expanded EIS is absolutely necessary.

i am not in favor of this expanded permit. water sources will be impacted, at the very least.
