My 2 kids are in the G&T program and I feel have been penalized by the administration for being smart. Changing the process with no prior warning is not acceptable. Make change for the better and not for the worse!

When reimagining G&T administration should engage current G&T parents and address their concerns, as they are most involved party

We must hold our politicians, especially those charged with the education of our children to their promises. They cannot change the rules of the game mid-game again and again; promise one thing, do another; and not engage parents - these are our children!

According to statistics, GT is the best program to help accelerated children grow. They learn more with classmates of same level and won’t feel bored. As one of GT parents, I demand the mayor to keep GT school. All NYC parents should have the right to get involved in any changes about GT and get updated about about these changes.

My daughter was sponsored by her teacher to participate in the G&T program but this year it was a lottery, no luck. No parents involvement in the process, no transparency, no rules. Outrageous.

The G&T program is very important for immigrant families who are education focused but cannot afford to live in school zones that support their children educational needs. This program is the only way that they can have access to decent education.

We demand: 1. The Mayor and DOE fulfill their promises and start family engagement without delay. 2. In good faith, leave flexibility in their plans for Citywide and District G&T programs to incorporate family input into the future of these programs that are intended to meet the educational needs of accelerated NYC student learners. 3. Chancellor Porter and other DOE officials meet with any and all CECs that request an Open Public Meeting to provide a forum for input from the G&T community in those districts prior to any announced changes to G&T programs.

Fix what is broke not what is working! You can still be Equitable while striving for Excellence! We don’t need to dumb down everyone’s education! We need to reach out our hand and pull everyone up!
