I support a range of programs to meet the needs of all NYC school kids - this includes dual language programs, ELL programs, after school programs, special ed programs as well as G&T programs. Having a variety of offerings to fulfill the varying needs of all students behoves us all. Mayor DeBlasio, do not go back on you promise for consultation! Ursila

The G&T program has been hugely beneficial to my son. He had a hard time in Gen Ed but has been thriving in G&T. It truly needs to be in place to meet the needs of students. There are so many ways to fix issues of diversity and equity in the program and the DOE has tried none of them.

It is very sad if you exclude parents from the process.

The cancellation of the G&T programs will end up forcing many families to spend thousands signing up their children for the private schools. If it’s what the mayor wanted, as least provide financial support for the families.

Let the kids have a learning options. Not fair for them to get rid of the whole program all at once.

Brain mature kids who are fast learners have the rights to explore more in G&T program while the regular kids have the rights to learn more efficiently and to take in more knowledge at their own pace in class. To mix the kids together in class will just create a big gap between them and make them uncomfortable in class.

G&T curriculum is vital for students capable of doing this level of work to flourish.. Mayor de Blasio its time you get families involved on this matter and not make changes on matters you know nothing about. You should support all kids not punish them. Do your Job!!
