Please delay the vote to allow impacted communities to propose additional viable alternatives for consideration.

Dilworth Elementary is unfairly targeted by CMS, where other surrounding schools with similar SES profiles are unaffected. The combined efforts of our community to elevate Dilworth to current status of "school of excellence" backfired on us. Dilworth is now expected to step into core CMS job and lift other underperforming schools, not just on elementary but also on middle school level. If there is any handshake to proceed with this rezoning it should be between parties that are here to stay and here to ensure success of the project at completion. A handshake with a current administration on the way out guarantees a failure (given monumental job ahead) and is irresponsible of CMS to demand. Please delay the vote until we are given the opportunity to collaborate inside the community and with the new CMS administration!

With so many changes, how can CMS possibly manage and respond the communities questions and considerations in just 4 weeks. They should delay the vote to give themselves and the community enough time.

I have a rising kindergartener attending Dilworth Elementary in the fall and would like to ensure the appropriate timeline has been provided to address this important issue. There is nothing more important than our childrens' future and this should not be taken lightly.

The proposed pairing schools will be unnecessarily inconvenient for families with children that will be separated, especially for families with both parents working. Any proposed changes should be delayed until the new district leaders and superintendent are in place.

Delay the vote.

We must delay the vote for all reasons stated. Information provided and data issued by the board has not been supported per the board at these local discussions held the past few days. There has been inadequate time to have our questions answered and to hear what alternative solutions were considered.

I'm saddened that we keep trying to push things through the system without looking at the projected growth rates. Huntersville is one of the fastest growing towns in NC. Why does CMS keep trying to catch up instead of looking forward and creating a long term plan? #frustratedmom

Our 3 kids will not participate in this Phase II injustice effecting kids currently attending Dilworth Elementary.

I support a solution that works best for all parties, but agree that this rush to a decision may not lead to that.

Compelling reasons for delaying the vote!

CMS has presented an inadequate plan in 3 key respects: 1 - Academic Accountibility Metrics - there are no metrics employed to measure Academic Success (or Failure, and any positive or Negative Impact upon performing students and schools). This proposal is based upon circular logic and makes increased SES diversity the end goal. Where are academic performance metrics? Are we educating or social engineering here? 2- TIE BOND AUTHORIZATION OF KEY LOW SES PROJECT FUNDING TO COMPLETION OF SPECIFIC MID AND HIGH SES PROJECTS: Bond money expenditures are not adequately tied to the new suburban projects that also help drive the city forward. CMS has demonstrated a pattern of bait and switch behavior defunding suburban projects previously without valid rationale. Bond funds need to be tied to specific projects, line items and timelines in specific neighborhoods or other key project funds (that social engineers favor) should also go away. 3- NEW SCHOOL LOCATIONS -new schools sites need to be planned, with land acquired or in process, in the same neighborhoods that are experiencing growth. Perimeter or boundary schools with long bus rides for kids from mid to high SES neighborhoods is a non starter. CMS needs to reveal specific new school locations prior to bond funding. Scott McCully and staff have lied repeatedly in the past about locations and programs and will do so again of given the opportunity. In the absence of these additions and a delay, VOTE NO ON BONDS.

Thought should be given to addressing the real problems, not reassigning school children. Reassignment rarely fixes any problem, and only generates issues with families having to juggle getting their children to and from multiple schools. Please give this proposal the time and thought it needs from all leadership, including the incoming representatives.

I urge you to please listen to the parents in the CMS community and allow them to be part of the planned changes. Let's work on a solution that the majority can be happy with. Let's take more time before voting.

I support #delaythevote from Huntersville.

For the CMS board to vote on such a major change days before the new super intendent takes charge is irresponsible. Just so when it goes wrong the past person can be blamed. We pay very large property tax bills that support our schools and this move is simply an attempt to bury a failing school into one that parents and students have worked hard to improve!

My family was moved to this area so that both my girls could attend Dilworth. Please reconsider this decision.
