This year at Newark High School I was tasked with writing a research paper. My topic was Income Inequality in America and its effects. Through my research I learned about how income inequality effects the community as a whole, not just individuals. Through my research I also learned that one easy way to combat income inequality is to raise the minimum wage. Not only does it help lower income people, it helps create a better community. I hope that with the help of my peers, our local Delaware Senator, John Walsh, will fight for an increase of the minimum wage from $8.25 to $12.
