Due to the oxford dictionary deforestation means the act of cutting down or burning the trees in an area.If the current rate of deforestation continues, it will take less than 100 years to destroy all the rainforests on the earth. We need to stop this because if we have no trees we will die because tree provide oxygen also so many many animals live in the rainforest, trees, jungles etc.
