Religious liberty is one of the founding principles of our nation. 0ver 300 million people worldwide are Orthodox Christians. We are not a cult. We are the oldest of all the Christian Confessions.

This is a horrid corruption of the US governmental system, and a mockery to the constitution. This is one more step towards the destruction of freedom of religion in our country.

I will be praying for you and your family Antonios. I will also be praying for Judge Worley. I pray that her and everyone else will remember the very first amendment the founding fathers put in the Bill of Rights. Freedom of Religion. Keep living in the Orthodox faith and do no give up. It is very sad how society no longer accepts our faith. I pray that this will change soon.

I am a product of divorce- likewise in similar condition to Mary. I wish that my parent was selfless enough to give ME a choice, and NOT to cater to the compromising, abusive situations that I was apart of solely to get child support money (in which I never saw) I hope and PRAY that I can be an example to this family- as this issue needs to stop. Failure to the knowledge of the Mom and the Judge, the child finds security in the religion- and that should be respected, and cannot be revoked from a child. I feel so sorry for this family.

It is the responsibility and right of a parent to raise their child to become a contributing member of society. The government cannot take away a parents right of freedom of religion. This is an attack on Orthodoxy and is dispicable.

This is completely unlawful, and would be regardless of the religion in question unless you could actually show the religion itself was fundamentally harmful (e.g. an actual cult like, say, the Branch Davidians). To forbid him even the cultural elements, along with the religious, is the rankest discrimination and is diametrically opposed to the 1st Amendment.

When an Inter-Christian couple comes to the Orthodox Church to Baptize their child, as an Orthodox priest I have been advised that it is a good practice to have the non-Orthodox spouse sign a “no objection “ affidavit. This can protect the child in the future and can be useful in this case-as some of the comments I have seen verify that the mother had no objection of her own free will - then Orthodoxy and its practice by Andonis’ Daughter cannot be used as a wedge. You can’t have it both ways. A signed affidavit would make it an open and shut case.

Freedom of religion basically all over the world especially in America. Its unlawful for the judge to take that right from him teaching his child of orthodoxy. Judge should be fired plus this gentlemen has a lawsuit against the judge.
