I, Chandell Kauwe Asuncion of Hawaii, protest the ratification of certain treaty, which so I am informed, will be signed by the delegation of Na’i Aupuni participants who have been accepted, paid and trained by members of the provisional government. The US Supreme Court has determined the Na’i Aupuni process to elect delegates is illegal under US Constitutional law which prohibits race-based elections. However Na’i Aupuni continues on and without skipping a beat, they accept, pay and train everyone who is a candidate based on ethnic illegibility. Candidates, who were running for delegate, are now considered a participant. Simple changes on paper, but the truth is no one is ever offered the opportunity to “participate” and only Kanaka who are on “the list of participants” –The “newest” race-based roll, were allowed inside to discuss federal recognition. Kanaka came daily, to ask if they could participate and day-after-day they were turned away or arrested.
