Not sure how Na'i Aupuni Aha could ever claim any legitimacy. The entire process is fraught with exclusion and duplicity. Whatever agenda is promoted as a result of this conference is going to be shrouded in fraud and suspicion. Either open it up or shut it down!

Because if this will affect everyone, then everyone should be involved. Like the public officials these people should be subject to the sunshine law for clarity.

As a non-Kanaka Maoli, I stand in solidarity with these elders and leaders. This process is fundamentally undemocratic and lacking in transparency. Even with the greatest of good intentions, it is NOT sufficient for the motivated few to meet in secret to discuss and decide the fate of the many. More often than not, these processes end in catastrophe. Self-appointed "wise men and women" are not qualified to make these decisions.
