Canada Games Pool put New West on the map as the swimming destination for the lower mainland. It would be a shame if we can't keep that legacy going.

it's disappointing to see the government not seeing the importance of keeping this sports readily available for enthusiastic swimmers. If the city is going to go Green, having more bike lanes, trails, swimming is a good one to keep, so the citizens are able to stay young, healthy and happy. Sincerely, gs

People may start off in the learning and public lanes but as they improve they may wish to move on up into competing. Oh wait, there won't be any competitions, because we won't have room for swim meets!

This is absolutely not acceptable. Not only will you destroy the nature of swimming and building strong team relationships but it will take away the excitement of learning how to swim, getting exercise by swimming laps and our competitive spirit in swimming to reach for the stars. Why would an outgoing city council want to make such a huge decision without public debate ??????

The public and the competitive swimming communities needs a pool where both can co exist with each other. The current design only allows for one.

Come on City Hall, show some foresight! We don’t build a new facility every 5 years. The Club is offering financial support. Do the math!

I was born in New West, and learned to swim at Canada Games pool. We need a proper facility for our atleates .We need a 10 lane 50m pool.
