It would be a big mistake not to have a competitive pool in the region of the LMR. Support competitive aquatic sports.

Competitive sports constitute a fundamental part in children’s education. They teach the effort - reward relationship, team spirit and promote healthy lifestyle. This is an investment in children’s future, and a decision to give kids a place to develop theirselves and keep them away from dangerous activities in today’s world. Build a pool suitable for competitive swimming.

Raising swimmers in the North East of BC. Hoping they get the chance to compete at provincials in my hometown of New Westminster.

To build a 10 lanes pool would be a better choice for future growth and developments for New Westminster.

The Canada Games Pool is well known across the region and province as a competitive pool and training facility. To change it would be a big loss for our community and beyond.

There is already insufficient facilities to support competitive swimming. Please do not take another one away. Building a facility which can host national and international swim meets will bring revenue to the city.

Absolutely, as a longstanding 15 year user of the pools lane swimming, we need to recognize the importance of leveraging this substantial investment to improve and augment the current state in support of recreational and competitive swimming. These strong swimming Traditions should be improved upon not scaled back. Use the Coquitlam or Walnut Grove aquatic centres as great examples of excellent facilities that offer the best of leisure, club and training grounds for recreational and competitive athletes and acquatic enthusiasts. Build it right for the future to keep a lasting legacy for the community going for the next 40 years.

It is important that there be an Olympic sized pool - keep the same sized pool.

We need to preserve the original concept of Canada Games Pool - specifically, a competition pool. City of New West Council needs to have some foresight to preserve and grow a strong competition swim program . Bringing hi level swim competition to the City is a win win , an economic driver for the city as well as preservation of the swim program.

Building a facility that will both support athletic endeavors AND provide a place for public programs benefits everyone involved. Provide New Westminster with a facility that attracts events and the entire city will benefit. Enable New Westminster to build a facility that can develop and train athletes that will be recognized nationally and internationally.
