A 10-lane pool is crucial for the community and competitive swimming.

Don't miss an opportunity to build a proper facility. Ten lanes are needed to accommodate leisure/recreational lane swimmers as well competitive groups.

10 lanes should be the minimum allocation for a 100 million dollar plus swimming pool project. The current 8 lane proposal is a waste of money as well as a golden opportunity to build a world class competitive swimming competition venue which will attract international interest.

This community has an opportunity to make an impact, long-term change. Don't waste it.

The proposed plan for a new pool/recreation center that removes the possibility of hosting high calibre meets goes against the original intention of the Canada Games Pool. This is a devastating turn of events for a facility the has so much history in Canadian swimming. I hope that the powers that be will reconsider the proposed design. It is possible (as seen in South Surrey with the Granview Heights Aquatic Center) to accommodate competitive swimming and the recreational in the same facility.

Any decisions being made should be put forward to the public for a vote because a decision should include all the groups who use the Canada games pool.

New Westminster can continue with its legacy started 45 years ago if we just give the club opportunity with 10 lane pool. Other provinces are way ahead of us so now is when we invest in future! Invest in kids who are dedicated, hard working and deserving of the chance!

Please allow the swimming competitors to continue using the new Canada Games Pool and not limit or eliminate their access to compete in their favourite sport activity. Thank you
