New Westminster needs a replacement for our current pool, but one that is modern, the same size or bigger that can accommodate a variety of purposes. It is short sighted to do otherwise. Please rethink the decision on the replacement pool.

We have plenty of recreational pools let’s make a pool that suits the needs of the kids. We want our kids to remain healthy and lead an active lifestyle as they get older.

For the future of the kids and families, pls reconsider putting in a better pool to accomodate everyone. If we are spending the money anyways.....the pool has nof changed since I was a kid! And now I am old!

A 10 lane 50 m pool provides the opportunity to run 25 metre lanes across the pool opening up the possibility of running 20 lanes freeing up space for public lessons as well as swim team practices and more importantly really opening up the opportunity to host big meets (ones that no other pool in the Lower Mainland is really set up to do). What an accomplishment that would be for New Westminster to be able to hold Canadian level swim meets and bring lots of dollars into the city as revenue from out of town visitors.

It would be a shame if the new design limited competitive swimming.

We believe that sports is one of the best avenue for our youth. Let’s save some money on crime, medication and hospitals and lets invest in what is best :)

Limiting a pool to simply recreation use is very short sighted thinking.

Competitive and recreational sport for youth and adults is beneficial for the the community in so many ways. Think long term.

A competition pool with 10 lanes and a proper warm down pool will draw more positive attention from the lower mainland. Currently there is no proper competition pool in the lower mainland at all. It would be a great opportunity for New Westminster to claim that status. Be the first and build the best pool in greater Vancouver.

The community needs a pool that can hold races and competitive swimming alongside other pool users

New West should WANT to be hosting these kinds of events.

Very wasteful, who is the watchdog here?

A capital project of this magnitude requires key consideration for the pool to be in place including the ability to host provincial and national level swim meets. The current design lacks this and clearly ignores the current and future needs of a key project stakeholder.

My two daughters have swim meets there. Please think about the plan again!

The pool would continue to be a revenue generator for both the commmunity Centre and the Swim Club. Please consider researching this fully before eliminating the capacity to host swim meets.
