The new pool needs to be 10 lanes for hosting regional, provincial and national competition. It benefits the local economy as swimmer families spend lots of money for meets and at local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, gas station and grocery stores.

You need a 50m pool. It’s the global standard. U had it 50 years ago, and now u want to go backward? Hyack used to be the envy of other clubs save Pacific Dolphins because you had 50m pool - hence Hyack got to host all the big invitationals - cause you had the only other 50m indoor pool in town.
now that richmond and all the others are catching up, New West wants to have the smallest pool instead?

Swimming pools for leisure are a dime a dozen... Athletics based facilities are a treasure, it inspires good qualities for generations, which is something at risk right now. Keep the pool!

A competitive pool (10 lanes, 50 m) can fulfil both leisure and competitive swimmer needs. Why build something new that is NOT going to serve everybody.

A 10 lane, 50 m pool is essential to raise a new generation of swimmers. It would be beneficial for the whole water sports community, the city of New Westminster and the whole province.

Do something positive for life
long health and fitness. Build proper pools that people can use for sport and for EXERCISE. Stop building giant bathtubs that are only used by little kids, or build a proper pool that meets the needs of both.

For community programming and competive swimming a 10 lane pool is now industry standard for a city of that size. Anything else would be foolish!
