Please consider hundreds of hayack kids who has dreams! Public leasure will make them loose there space to practice and chasing their champion dreams!

A downsized pool shows a real limited view of the future of the community and is just going backwards for all: swim club and public alike. A competitive pool opens opportunities for the community for the next 30-50 years, which is 5 to 10 generations of athletes.

This pool is an asset to overall fitness and wellbeing supporting the concept of cradle to the grave swimming. The Hyack Swim Club is willing and able to assist in raising funds for it. The council is not looking ahead to the future of the athletes young and old.

Swim clubs are community!! Councils seem to forget that. Lap pools are extremely important. Don’t build something that isn’t usuable

Please consider the sport of swimming in your development of new facilities. When youth have a sport or activity that they are able to be successful with they are able to be so much more successful, stay away from drugs and bad influences. Please consider your decisions.

New West needs to catch up to other municipalities that have amazing rec centres (Burnaby and Coquitlam to name just two). All we have is Canada Games and it is old, dated and frankly an embarrassment. We are in Gabe top 2 or 3 in property taxes and yet see nothing in return recreationally. Shame

Please reconsider your plans. Hard to believe that instead of making it BIGGER,BETTER POOL AND AQUATIC CENTRE ,you are actually thinking about downsizing it. Do we, the families matter to you at all?

A venue for competitive swimming to serve young athletes and the local community is needed. Also please consider how Edmonds Pool in Burnaby was already too small and running at capacity on opening. Design and build this facility with a broad vision for the future considering the exponential growth of New Westminster and the Lower Mainland. What will community’s needs be in 5 years by the time this facility is built?
