Not only is overdevelopment occurring, but without concurrency studies. In 1980s FL had comprehensive planning done and updated every 7 years. It does not appear that concurrency studies could be occurring for roads and storm water management could be happening now. Also, we need to stop the cloud-seeding/climate engineering which is increasing the rainfall. Please help to stop this locally and nationwide by writing to your politicians to halt these problems.

New development east is hurting established neighborhoods west. Private contractors walked off the job during a storm sewer infrastructure project on Bahia Vista, and their work should be investigated. The road was torn up for years and mistakes were likely made.

Two petitioners, Icard Merrill and M/I Homes are proposing Comp Plan amendments, CPA-2024-B and CPA-2024-C to add Conservation Subdivisions in South County on parcels of 75 acres or more. This additional category to the Comp Plan will increase density potentially 10X the current allowed density. One potential rezone request is in the Myakka River floodplain in Venice. None of these petitions as of today, are on the boards' schedules for public comment. I agree, at least, PAUSE all the amendments, rezones, special variances, until further notice. I applaud your efforts, and thank you.

Far too often, new homes are built on watershed land. Then, when it rains heavily, the water has nowhere to go. Many builders expect all the rain to siphon off into a canal that was built eons ago and not to current demands. Too much pavement has created massive flooding, as well. It seems the builders build without a government concern for this expansion. County supervisors and local city councils need to consider a lot more than how much money goes into their pockets.

Living on the Grand Canal, we have seen serious degradation of the water quality. A land use study and prevention of sewage discharge should be mandatory before any more development is approved.

We need to know exactly what were the multiple failures that caused the devastating effect to our community. Only then can we move forward to negate economic, environmental, and ecological ruin in the future. Mass development proposed then changed after passing is not in the best interest the current/ future residents of the county of Sarasota and the state of Florida.
