We need to stop what has become a run-away train. Slow down and do some real studies about the impact on surrounding properties before approving every petition that comes before you.

Please pause Comprehensive Plan amendments and study effects of increasing building density

All Areas of Sarasota county, especially from Clark Rd going south, where there is lots of land and water sheds.

This needs to be addressed.

Commission needs to stop approval of building. Vote out Commissioners that have developers in their pockets. Your flooding every neighborhood with all this building.

7751 Gator Creek had over 4 foot of water covering our entire 7 acres

Please do this study because even the storm drains we have are not being maintained in working order. Our local government needs to be shown how badly they are shirking their duty.

Stop the building.

Our county needs to fix the currently outdated drainage system all over the county. Not only in Sarasota, but areas of S Venice that have been neglected for years and allowed to flood. It's completely unacceptable.

Saddle Creek (170 homes) is located on Cowpen slough and we rely on the slough to carry stormwater away and the slough is heavily overburdened by overdevelopment. Land use in the Cowpen slough basin has changed dramatically since it was built in 1962 and is in need of dredging and redesign. Residential development near the slough is 3x what it was in 1995.

Year round resident living in the same very modest house for 35 yrs. My area has so far been spared, but I can clearly see the difference in how water pools up & then recedes here, since nearby open land that used to have trees & cows now has row after row of apartment buildings. We must STOP this crazed, one might say almost manic, surge in building & development now before it's too late. It may well be that we're already past the point of no return. I fully support the efforts of this petition & stand with the people who genuinely care about this place I love so much. I will do my best to speak out against & vote out those in power who would do otherwise. For God's sake, this is our home they're messing with! They don't have to win. We can't let them win. Fight back. Use your voice & your vote but make noise!

Overdevelopment has been an ongoing problem that has evolved into disaster for so many. Common sense and working for the common good are qualities rarely seen in developers.

Need moratorium until infrastructure is in place and higher impact fees.

Heed Jon Thaxton's advice. We are killing the golden goose with overdevelopment.

We need to slow the growth rate down and get more infrastructure to support our communities and protect them.

Yes, we need to prevent this type of flooding in the future!

Stop building! Think of the infrastructures and the flooding it causes and destroys everything around it.
