Please stop building until you know what the true effects of the water drainage is. We NEVER had flooding like this last storm at our house.

We've got to control growth and as a Siesta Key resident, we need to fight these developers who want to build hotels on the island. Proof is as clear as day when we look at the destruction caused by Debby!

Slow the growth! Especially slow new growth until we can trust what has already broke ground can be supported on the current infrastructure.

The flooding experienced in Sarasota was partly due to unusually high levels of rain, and partly due to high levels of development. We can expect higher levels of both in the future. Let us pause now and plan how we prepare for deal with that.

We experienced the most flooding I've seen in Calusa Lakes in the last 10 years from storm Debby. In fact, the storm on 8.21 and 8.22 also cause flooding, to a lesser extend. It is my understanding from the Neighborhood Workshop on 8.20, the Palmer Ranch East project (4,303 homes) will have roughly 80% of dispense through Fox Creek / Cow Pen Slough, exactly where Calusa Lakes water is dispensed. Are we really prepared to handle an additional 4303 homes given the issues we've had in the last month? I support the hydrology study, land use pause and wastewater spillage and prevention plan now.

While I believe these studies and reports are needed, they will take months, our residents remain in danger from continuing heavy rains being forecast.
