I agree that the studies are necessary. We don’t want to turn into another Houston that floods with every rain. Also, the canals, big and small, need to be dredged.

Colonial Oaks had not flooded in over 19 years but homes had water in them from Debbie a not major hurricane. Development east of 75 without proper flood water rerouting/ planning, I believe, is the reason.

Our home and neighborhood in Colonial Oaks has never flooded in the 19 years we have lived in it. Through major long lasting hurricanes and a lot more water coming down. Until. Debbie and the recent development of what used to be our flood run off East of 75 , celery fields etc.

If Sarasota County officials are so sure about the proposed continued development and that it won't cause future communtiy flooding, then Sarasota County must indemnify homeowners that suffer future flooding events due to their rampant development approvals.

STOP DESTROYING every vacant parcel of land by building condos and high-rises, homes and apartments and causing All kinds of problems for all of us homeowners who have been here 20 30 and 40 years with flooding and numerous other problems due to lack of concern about the major damage that this is causing.

As a resident of Heritage Oaks Golf and country club, off Lorraine, just north of Clark, this lack of attention to oir drainage issues due to overdevelopment is irresponsible and appalling
