Single family homes with 5 acres is ok.
MULTI FAMILY TOWNHOUSES and Apartments ARE NOT.
The infrastructure is NOT there.
And recently the flooding issues.

We need to repurpose areas that were already developed and abandoned, but also need to invest in our greenspaces and natural spaces. Work -with- our landscape for the benefit of all.

This study needs to be completed now, not sometime in the undisclosed future. We need our commissioners to hear us as residents and to do this work to keep us safe.

Our home was flooded significantly during Debby and we are currently displaced. Future development MUST consider how the changing weather patterns will affect the county as a whole.

When I moved to Sarasota County in 1995, there was something called the 2050 plan. Obviously, that is now non-existent. The overdevelopment is very much harming our area in terms of flooding and in terms of overpopulation and clogged roadways. We need to start saying no to Developers! Please, at minimum, follow the recommendations set forth in this petition. You're here to represent us and we are speaking to you now!6

I completely agree. There needs to be further study and modeling, using new standards. These are not "100 year" storms. Let's stop pretending that they are and use technology and modeling to ask the "what if" questions to create better designs -- before things are built

Update infrastructure BEFORE adding the countless neighborhoods and high rises.
How about you use the Extortion money , I mean property taxes you demand annually while providing absolutely nothing in return on a property you already paid for with money that was already taxed.. Oh yeah that would make too much sense

The Manasota region is one hydro-ecological system with multiple subsystems. You cannot pave over one section without affecting another. Most current development design criteria and standards are obsolete and ineffective. Some were never adequate.
