We should be allowed to talk about the conflict between women’s sex-based rights and the concept of self ID without being called bigots and transphobes

Just as "trans rights are human rights", women's rights are human rights too.

I'm utterly dismayed by a once credible organisation advocating for LGBTQ people (like myself) having become a Trans-activist, anti-women and anti-feminist shambles.

The majority should not have to give way to the minority. Legislation should not be adopted that adversely affects the greater proportion of the population.

There must be open debate with reasoned arguments.

Open debate should allow people to voice their concerns and listen to all the views on this very important issue. I'm not transphobic just concerned that my rights as a woman are being compromised.

Please reconsider your position regarding the GRA. Self id poses a real danger to women and girls and the issue should be thoroughly discussed.

I want the right to talk about this openly, what I am being expected to accept in law if the GRA goes ahead as it is, is altering who I am and my very womanhood and it's shocking I have no right to speak about this and discuss it openly without being accused of being transphobic of which I am absolutely not. I cannot understand why an organisation like Stonewall has muzzled me and my gender (women without penises) from discussing this.

I’m so relieved about this petition and Stonewall finally being shown up as the driving force behind this terrible and aggressive ideology. I hope Penny Mordaunt will now finally acknowledge our valid fears around women’s rights and safe guarding and stand up for us all. Good work to everyone behind the petition.

The slavish support of transpeople and the dismissal of concerns from gay and lesbian people, and heaven forfend straight women, is appalling to watch.

This is a regressive ideology pandering as progressive thought. Astonishing that in 2018 schools are telling children that they have male or female souls which can be trapped in the wrong body. How long till Biology class is 'updated' and dictionaries 'corrected'? Gender does not eradicate biological fact and your pinkest dress does not make you a woman. Woman are oppressed because of their biology and gender is their prison, not your pretty playground. Woman don't have penises. What they do have is unequal pay, their right to family planning continually challenged, and their opinions invalidated because they have a vagina. I've always fought gender conformity; I never expected Stonewall to champion it.

Respectful debate harmed noone

The debate about the GRA is being hamstrung by trans activists who seem determined to shut it down. All we want to do is talk about it.

Women have worked hard to get their 'sex-based' rights...please don't contribute to taking those away by supporting rhetoric that harms women.

A full and frank discussion must be allowed to occur regardless of how difficult it may be for the trans community and Stonewall.
