Ruth Hunt’s refusal to debate or acknowledge any possible conflict between trans rights and women’s rights clearly demonstrates how anti-women Stonewall’s position is. She has thrown women under the bus in pursuit of trans rights.

Signing as my wife has explained the issues to me before and I agree 100% with her view on this. Whilst it will not affect me as much as it will affect women (adult human females..) I am still extremely concerned as I have many women in my life that I care about. I actually have a transsexual woman in my family also, and she agrees that there is an absolute clash of rights here, and think Stonewall are ridiculous in expanding the 'trans umbrella' so far that it now includes fetishists and people who just don't follow stereotypes.

This is so important. I am signing AFTER Ruth Hunt has already refused to acknowledge the clash of rights here, but heres hoping she actually thinks about the issue, rather than the funding.

Sex based protections MUST trump feelings. Women and girls have a right to privacy, dignity and safety.

Trans people are an identified group of there own. Pls don't water this down or maginalize other groups due to your group integrating them into other groups to make them fit. They are a group in their own right.

Stonewall seem to have lost sight of the fact that the LGB part of their "community" is about who we have sex with - as a man I am attracted to men - with male pheromones - and just because I wouldn't sleep with a trans-man doesn't make me transphobic. Instead Stonewall are favouring and prioritising the T, which is about gender identity - two completely different issues.

All people's rights matter. All should feel safe, included, recignosd, welcome. This means looking at how new approaches wouod affect other groups: sex is a protected characteristic with good reason, while gender is merely a mosaic of imposed or chosen behaviours including visual presentation. There are good reasons to worry that self-identification of gender (effectively asserting biological sex, including if physical transition has not bern undertaken) may in some cases lead to situations where girls abd women have their rights and personal security infringed. We have to recognise this. Women and girls matter as well as transpeople.

Debate, discussion, listening, empathy with each other has been the hallmark of advancing rights freedoms and equalities. Silencing debate and demonizing those who question or disagree is the hallmark of oppression and suppression.

That Stonewall should embrace the denial of women (straight, gay, bi-), in other words erasing the basis of diversity, by adopting this rather spurious "gender identity" concept – a concept which will have hugely damaging legal ramifications on all women subject to patriarchal law frameworks – is a mockery of the struggle that gave birth to Stonewall. Time to re-think it, folks.

Hoping that common sense will prevail with a calm measured approach which allows discussion and genuine debate around this delicate subject.

Please consider supporting lesbians and not demonising us over this difference of opinion

Please re-consider and do not undo the excellent work you have done previously. This should not be your legacy. You cannot stifle debate or accuse those people who have stood shoulder to shoulder with the LGB community for decades of transphobia. As a woman in the public sector I am unable to debate or talk about these issues and the GRA without fear of losing my job! I am a mother to a gay adult child - how dare you slur me and try to silence me with your nasty finger-pointing.

I can perhaps forgive that you have overlooked the rights owed to heterosexual women - as this is not the aim of your organisation, but to have excluded, harassed and effectively erased lesbian women seems unjustifiable for your organisation.

I'm sad. I'm really sad that there is not a proper debate that Stonewall are a part of. I'm sad also because I fear that Stonewall has become something very different to what I used to support and be proud of. I have literally just had my will changed to exclude them from my estate.
