We must distinguish between cross dressing men and trans women experiencing gender dysphoria. We are not the same.

Transgender individuals absolutely deserve protection and to live their live free from discrimination but this should not be at the expense of sex based rights. Women have the right to define ourselves and organise and fight the discrimination and sexism we face everyday because of our female bodies.

I do not question trans people’s right to exist or seek to undermine their ability to go about their daily lives free from fear and abuse. However it is clear that there is a conflict between trans rights and women’s rights - the sexual offences committed by a trans woman housed in a women's prison being one recent example - how can a reasonable person not acknowledge this? In relation to the recent poll by the Thomson Reuters Foundation - how many of the 1,000 women polled understood that many trans women undergo no hormone treatment or surgery and retain fully functioning male genitalia? I suggest the poll result would have been very different if this had been made clear.

There must be a way to discuss these issues, whilst accepting the reality of sex based oppression

It is very important to bypass and transcend the narrow minded wailing and whining of the morally, ethically, intellectually degraded, sexually-repressed wankers who imagine themselves to be the very pinnacle of creation and just let people be. How about getting your knickers in a knot about the rapacious predations of the corporatist neofeudalist kleptocracy instead of projecting your little bits of impotent vitriol onto TheOther - be they fags, trannies, immigrants, or people smarter than you.

This issue has significant implications for all women, including trans women. I just want to be able to understand those implications by talking and listening to others with more information and understanding than I have. But this seems impossible in such a toxic and polarised atmosphere. Let’s aim for a respectful, evidence based discussion so we can make good decisions that meet the needs of all of us.

the only equitable solution is third spaces but transwomen don't want that as it doesn't compel the rest of the world to believe the lie.

No-one should be forced to adopt stereotypes gender behaviours according to their sex, but this does not mean that sex is irrelevant to how people are treated by society. Two women a week in the U.K. are killed by men - this is not due to their “identity,” but because of their sex. Trans-identifying people deserve human rights, but should not be allowed to steamroller over women and girls’ rights in the process. Stop the GRA and let’s have a real conversation.

So relieved the conversation is being opened up about this. My own local council has recently voted to classify a local woman's group 'a hate group' for having the audacity to speak about this. Absolutely insane. Protect women's rights and safety...and just as importantly...LISTEN to them.

Trans women need their own space they should not be taking over women only spaces

Men cannot transmogrify into women. Women do not have penises. Protect women's rights.

Nothing is above debate. We need to protect people (all people) by allowing them to voice their opinions

No comment is just not good enough. Since when do we not debate? I really really fear for the future of my gender non conforming child if the current climate prevails. Do we no longer allow nuanced and intelligent debate of a complex and multi faceted issue? To deny social contagion is to deny any knowledge of the reality of being a teen... please give your heads a wobble.
