Stonewall needs to listen. Read all these comments, there's no bigotry here. Please, take a step back. Talk to women, engage in debate. Recognise that there are dangerous voices shouting very loudly here and you need to listen to those voices being drowned out and intimidated.

Long term supporter of Stonewall but really appalled at some of the campaigning, tactics and misleading advice and information that Stonewall give concerning this issue and the existing equality laws. They have sunk very low and lost so much respect and support along the way. They are doing immense damage to so many including trans people who are now facing the inevitable backlash.

By silencing the voices of the LGBT community and cis women, you are not promoting equality. You are promoting totalitarianism.

This is one of the most important fights women and indeed lesbian and bisexual women have fought in the past 100 years. Please see some sense.

Gender is a social construct and that social construct should be critically examined. Sex is a biological physical reality upon which gender is imposed. Debate should be allowed and be civil. People should be protected.

Biological women are being increasingly marginalised by this insidious campaign and being forced to accept male bodied persons with male genitalia into their safe spaces. This is not acceptable to the vast majority of us and we will not be bullied into it by the misogynistic patriarchy. Woman: noun; adult human female. #Standing for women.

The discourse about this subject online is utterly intolerant, often nasty and misogynistic. Organisations like Stonewall ought to be providing a forum for dialogue, not branding protests by lesbians - legitimately concerned that their existence is being erased - as 'horrible transphobic demonstrations'.

Gender is a spectrum: some people are entirely female, others are entirely male, and there’s a lot in the middle.
Credibility on any given claim is also a spectrum: some people are entirely trustworthy, others are wholly acting in bad faith, and there’s a lot in the middle.
Stonewall appears to be insisting that gender self-identification is the only area of self-image in all human history where absolutely no-one is deluded, no-one is projecting unrelated mental issues, no-one has hidden motives, and everyone deserves to be taken 100% seriously at all times. This kind of magical thinking is, quite frankly, insane. Please get over it.

Further discussion is needed on this, we can't afford for the rights and safety of cis women to be put at risk without far more work being done.

Some of the proposals Stonewall is making puts trans lives at risk eg no medical records on transitioning, and imposing ideology on men and women who want sanctuary after having suffered physical or sexual violence.

Recognising or discussion biology is not transphobic We must be allowed to use words to describe our own bodies and experiences without being silenced by the threat of being called a transphobe
